With cyclonic storm Hudhud set to hit Andhra Pradesh coast, the state government Saturday requested the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to provide satellite pictures of the coastal region.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has requested the central government to help the state by providing the satellite pictures.

"These pictures will help in speeding up rescue and restoration work for officials and personnel monitoring the situation," a statement from the chief minister's office said Saturday.

Large-scale evacuation efforts have already been taken up and the chief minister is monitoring the situation closely, it added.
