It was a hot and scorching Saturday in Delhi with the maximum temperature rising to 40.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above average. The Met department has forecast a partly cloudy sky Sunday.
The minimum temperature settled at 31.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above average. The humidity hovered between 68 and 31 percent.
"The sky will be cloudy Sunday," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Sunday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 39 and 29 degrees Celsius.
The monsoon arrived in Delhi last Sunday, a fortnight ahead of schedule, but the national capital has not received rains since then.
