Software products and services firm Aricent said on Tuesday it will impart specialised skills in software development and testing to about 2,500 engineering students in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Delhi NCR region and Rajasthan.
Nasscom Foundation of the IT industry's representative body will associate with "Aricent Employability Programme" to create job opportunities to the engineering graduates in the four states.
"Our on-campus programme will equip students in select cities and colleges with skills in specialised areas in software development and testing, enabling to find employment across the IT-BPM (business process management) industry," Aricent chief strategy officer Payal Koul Mirakhur told reporters here.
Training partners for the programme, iPrimed and Global Talent Track, will impart oral and written communication, business etiquette, problem solving, time management, customer orientation, interview skills and soft skills for the engineering students.
The training modules encompass online and classroom sessions, project work, project competitions, tech talks and industry leadership talks among others.
"How to make engineering graduates from under-served communities more employable is a burning question, the industry has been trying to address for quite some time. We are glad to partner with Aricent to train the youth...," said Nasscom Foundation CEO Shrikant Sinha.
On successful completion, candidates will be assessed and certified under NDSC-SSC Nasscom qualification parameters for a relevant job role. The programme will also help students with placement assistance.
Founded in 1991, Aricent is a product engineering service and software firm, develops software and provides technology services for networking, telecom, software, semiconductor, internet, and industrial companies.
