An Army porter was killed on Friday in a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops in Akhnoor sector along the Line of Control in Jammu district, defence sources said.
"An army porter identified as Deepak Kumar was martyred in sniper fire from Pakistan side. Our troops have retaliated strongly", a source said.
Firing exchanges also took place today in Tangdhar sector of the LoC in Kupwara district of the Valley.
The Pakistan Army targeted Indian positions in Dhani, Amru and Sadpora areas of Tangdhar along the LoC.
"Indian positions also retaliated strongly and effectively," a defence source said.
