A court in Islamabad Monday issued an arrest warrant against Pakistani TV anchor Mubashir Lucman, media reported.
Lucman is a talk show host on the channel ARY News, Dawn online reported.
The arrest warrant was issued during a hearing initiated by the Independent Media Corporation (IMC) and Independent Newspapers Corporation (INC).
Lucman has been accused of defaming and ridiculing public officials, including senior court judges, during his talk show.
Earlier this month, he was barred by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) from presenting any more shows.
The IHC July 2 had also issued a bailable arrest warrant against Lucman.
The hearing of the case was adjourned to Sep 6.
