All arterial and sub-arterial roads in upcoming Andhra Pradesh capital Amaravati will be ready by the end of next year, officials informed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday.
The 270-km-long arterial and sub-arterial 270-km roads will be completed at an estimate cost of Rs 3,600 crore.
In addition to this, 130-km collector roads will also be laid out, the officials said.
Naidu, who held a review meeting with officials, asked them not to compromise on quality and ensure that there is no water logging on roads.
"Economic activity should start immediately," the Chief Minister told them.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), he said that development should not be confined just to the capital area and that services should be decentralised.
Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) Commissioner Sreedhar informed Naidu that they are holding meetings with mangers of star hotels, representatives of schools and colleges and are in the process of indentifying land for them.
"A total of 39 hotels like Taj, ITC, Novotel have come forward and we are holding a meeting with hospital groups on Nov 11," informed the CRDA Commissioner.
The officials explained the advantages of common utility duct and showed different models in use in China, Europe and Singapore.
The officials informed the Chief Minister that they are in the process of indentifying areas for establishing iconic parks.
Naidu also asked the officials to build a world-class stadium to conduct National Games by 2018.
He also spoke on the development of Legal City and said that the city should be a one-stop place for all legal services.
