Prime Minister Nrendra Modi said on Saturday, the first day of his visit to Malaysia and Singapore, that an Asean-India innovation platform will be set up for research and development.
"We will enlarge the Asean-India Science and Technology Development Fund from the current $1 million to $5 million," Modi said in his address as the 13th Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations)-India Summit got underway here.
"We also intend to set set up an Asean-India Innovation Platform to facilitate commercialisation of low cost technologies, technology transfer and collaborative research and development," he said.
Earlier on Saturday, Modi addressed the Asean Business and Investment Summit.
He will also attend the 10th East Asia Summit here on Sunday.
