Former Competition Commission of India chairman Ashok Chawla took charge on Sunday as Non-Executive Chairman of Yes Bank, the private lender said in a stock exchange filing.

Chawla, who has also served as Union Finance Secretary, took over after incumbent Radha Singh ended her tenure as the bank's director on Saturday.

Chawla was appointed Additional Non-Executive Director on the bank's board in March this year. Yes Bank had anounced then that Chawla was to become Non-Executive Chairman after the end of Singh's term.
