Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday threatened to demonstrate in front of parliament soon if the central government failed to release Assam's pending dues amounting to around Rs.20,000 crore.

Gogoi said that while majority of the dues were concerning the pending oil royalty to the state to the tune of Rs.10,000 crore, the state was yet to receive another amount of about Rs.10,000 crore related to different schemes.

"I will go and hold a demonstration in parliament otherwise they will not listen to us. I will wait for 15 to 20 days and think of going to New Delhi and holding a demonstration there," said Gogoi.

The Congress leader added that the central leaders of the BJP have been trying to confuse the people of Assam on fund allocation.

"The fund flow to Assam has decreased even though the BJP has promised that 'Achche Din' will come," he said.

Notably, Assam goes to the polls early next year.
