Atletico Madrid signed Argentine goalkeeper Axel Werner for five years, indicating that the international will be on loan at Boca Juniors this football season, according to a statement released on Saturday.
The statement explained that Atletico Madrid "has reached an agreement with Atletico Rafaela for the transfer of Axel" until June 30, 2021, reports Efe.
Atletico Rafaela announced the transfer of Werner a week ago, while the Spanish club confirmed the signing on Saturday.
"Atletico Madrid and Boca Juniors have also signed an agreement for the goalkeeper to play loaned in the Xeneize team this season," the statement added.
Werner, 20, began the pre-season workouts with Boca Juniors this week.
