Spanish football giants Atletico Madrid on Wednesday announced that they have reached an agreement to contract midfielder Victor Machin Perez until 2022.
Known as Vitolo, the midfielder has rescinded his contract with Sevilla where he spent the last four years. He is set to play on loan at Las Palmas for the first half of the next season, before joining Atletico, due to the ban FIFA imposed on the latter, reports Efe.
"Due to FIFA's sanction that forbids the club from registering football players during the current summer market, the player will play the first half of the season with Unión Deportiva Las Palmas and will join our team starting on January 1, 2018," Atletico said on its website.
"Vitolo, who is 27, is a football player of proven experience and quality, who has defended the shirt of the senior national team 11 times and has become one the most unbalancing players of the League in the last seasons," the 10-time La Liga champions added.
The deal came after Sevilla president Jose Castro said on Tuesday that he expects forward Victor Machin to renew his contract with the Spanish club as soon as possible.
