The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) has decided to impose additional sanctions on Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios for his intentional defeat against Germany's Mischa Zverev at the Shanghai Masters.

According to the ATP, the investigations found out that Kyrgios committed a major offence of engaging in a "conduct contrary to the integrity of the game," reports Efe on Monday.

Thus, the world's no. 14 was fined $25,000 and suspended from ATP tournaments for eight weeks until next January 15.

However, the suspension may be reduced to three weeks if Kyrgios undergoes a remedial course under the direction of an ATP-approved sports psychologist.

Kyrgios had already been fined $16,500 for the lack of sportsmanlike behaviour.
