The 32nd Donauinselfest (Danube Island Fest) held here over the weekend, attracted a record 3.3 million visitors, its organisers said on Monday.
The previous attendance record for the annual three-day open-air music festival, one of the largest in Europe, was 3.2 million in 2013, according to Xinhua.
Festival organiser Thomas Waldner said the atmosphere on all three days was "incredible", with good weather and well-behaved crowds.
Police also reported a "relatively uneventful" festival in terms of their efforts compared to previous years, with a small number of incidents mainly involving thefts and infringements of festival drug and alcohol policy reported.
