Internationally acclaimed South Korean film director and writer Im Kwon Taek, who is being conferred with the prestigious lifetime achievement award at IFFI 2016, on Sunday said that he is a fan of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and films like "3 Idiots" and "Slumdog Millionaire".

Taek, who is regarded as father of the Korean cinema, has a career which has spanned across five decades, during which he has directed more than 100 films.

"I like Shah Rukh Khan. Among movies made in India, I liked '3 Idiots' and 'Slumdog Millionnaire'," Taek told a press conference on Sunday.

Taek also said that his cinema automatically has traces of Indian influence, especially when he makes films with Buddhism as a theme.

"I get inspired by Indian thought when I make films on Buddha, Buddhism," he said, and added that he was looking forward to working on co-productions with Indian filmmakers.
