Dubai, May 7 (IANS/WAM) The Dubai Municipality is categorising areas in the emirate in order to move bachelors from residential areas designated for families, and prevent them from sharing family accommodations.
Yusuf Abdullah Al Marzouqi of the Buildings Department said the civic body has cracked down on many residential areas in Dubai as many bachelors were found staying in residential areas meant for families.
The municipality disconnected electricity and water in buildings that violated the law.
Urging the public to cooperate with the civic body, Marzouqi said it has been noticed that some owners were still leasing rooms to bachelors in areas allocated for families.
He said the municipality will take necessary action in case of any complaint from families regarding the presence of bachelors in their areas.
