About 30 women Congress supporters Thursday staged a protest outside the Uttar Pradesh Bhawan here against the state government over the Badaun gang rape and murder case, police said.
The Congress women collected outside the Uttar Pradesh Bhawan in Chanakyapuri area around 3 p.m. and protested for half an hour.
The protestors demanded resignation of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav over the Badaun and other rape cases that have recently taken place in Uttar Pradesh.
Two teenaged cousin girls, aged 14 and 15 years, were allegedly gang raped and later hanged from a tree May 27 in Katra Sadatganj village of Badaun district in the state, causing a national uproar.
