"Sherpa", a film based on the story of the massive avalanche that tore through the Khumbu Icefall killing 16 Sherpas, will premiere in India on April 18.
Set to be aired on Discovery Channel, the film has been directed by Australian documentary filmmaker Jennifer Peedom.
The film captures the story of the Sherpa community, united in grief and anger as they reclaim the respected mountain they call Chomolungma, read a statement.
"Sherpa" was nominated in the Best Documentary category at the 69th British Academy Film Awards, which took place earlier this year.
It chronicles the historic moment of tragedy and resistance in which the Sherpas and their families consider the future of Everest climbing.
