Badminton Association of India president Akhilesh Das Gupta is all set to be re-elected unopposed as he was the only candidate who filed the nomination for the post.
BAI secretary general Vijai Sinha will also be re-elected unopposed when the association's AGM takes place here Jan 25 on the semifinal day of the India Grand Prix Gold to be held here from Jan 21-26.
Voting will only be required to elect secretary, coaching and development as Omar Rashid and K.N. Jaiswal are the two candidates who filed nominations before Returning Officer Justice (retd.) A.N. Gupta at the end of the deadline for filing of nominations here Tuesday.
The term of the present office bearers will end June 12 as the last elections were held June 13, 2010.
