Bangladesh declares nine-day holiday

The Bangladesh government has declared a nine-day public holiday starting from July 1 for Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The announcement was made by the country's Public Administration Ministry on Wednesday, Xinhua news agency reported.
Muslim majority Bangladesh will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on or around July 6 based on the sighting of new moon.
