Bangladesh's mobile phone subscribers topped 116 million at the end of May, with about three million new users in the first five months of this year, official data showed Wednesday.
According to Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), the total number of cell phone users in the South Asian country of about 153 million people reached 116.24 million at the end of May 2014, Xinhua reported.
The latest BTRC data showed the number of subscribers of the country's six cell phone operators -- Grameenphone, Banglalink, Robi, Airtel, Citycell, Teletalk -- at the end of May stood respectively at 49.09 million, 29.63 million, 24.08 million, 8.49 million, 1.43 million and 3.52 million.
The total number of Bangladesh's mobile phone subscribers reached nearly 113.78 million at the end of December 2013, showed the BTRC data.
