A high court in Bangladesh Monday granted Bangladesh Nationalist Party's (BNP) acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir bail for six months in a bombing case.
The bench of Justices Borhanuddin and K.M. Kamrul Kader issued the order Monday, bdnews24.com reported.
The order would enable the BNP leader, now in Kashimpur jail in Dhaka, to secure release from prison, his lawyers said.
Earlier April 3, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md. Zohurul Haque had denied him bail in the case.
Fakhrul has been accused in the case for inciting bombing a bus Nov 30 last year during a blockade called by the BNP.
The BNP leader had earlier secured bail in three other cases.
