Bridgetown (Barbados), Feb 6 (IANS/CMC) Barbados' giant-killing tennis players have fixed an appointment with El Salvador in their next Americas Zone Group 2 Davis Cup fixture here in April.
The Barbadians qualified for the April 4-6 semifinal encounter after a massive 3-2 upset of South American powerhouses Chile, last weekend on the hard courts of the National Tennis Centre three miles outside of the capital, reports CMC.
Should the Barbadians overcome El Salvador, they will qualify for a September Group 2 play-offs with either Peru or Mexico for a spot in Group 1 in 2015.
After victories over higher ranked teams, Paraguay and Puerto Rico last year, the Barbados team, led by Darian King and Haydn Lewis, sent shockwaves across the tennis world last weekend when they consigned the Chileans to tears and disappointment.
