FC Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta will be sidelined for two weeks while his French teammate, defender Jeremy Mathieu will be out for three weeks after both footballers were injured in the first leg of the Supercopa de España first leg game against Sevilla on Sunday.
The Catalan club's medical staff confirmed on Monday that Iniesta is suffering from a right knee injury and will be away for a fortnight from the field, reports Efe.
In the case of Mathieu, tests confirmed on Monday morning that he has a torn hamstring in his right leg that will keep him away from playing for the next three weeks.
Both players will miss the Supercopa de España second leg at the Camp Nou on Wednesday and will also miss La Liga's opening game.
