Actor Bellamkonda Srinivas, who is currently busy shooting for a project with director Boyapati Srinu, will play the lead in yet-untitled Telugu remake of Tamil super hit "Sundarapandian".
"I've decided to star in the film's remake. Bhimaneni Srinivasa Rao will be directing it and it will not be a frame-to-frame copy. We plan to only adapt the core of the original," Bellamkonda told IANS.
Two more actors will be finalised soon to play other leads in the film. The lead heroine will also be announced soon.
A cult hit "Sundarapandian" (2012) is a taut commercial film set against the backdrop of Madurai.
With the successful cinematic debut "Alludu Seenu" last year, Bellamkonda hopes his success streak will continue.
"There's a lot of pressure after the success of my first film. I just hope I continue to be successful in my second film as well," he said.
