Bengal gets 100 more medical seats

The central government has raised the number of seats in medical colleges in West Bengal by 100, an official statement said.

"As per the proposal of the state government and in accordance with the recommendations of the Medical Council of India, the centre has increased the number of seats from the MBBS academic session 2016-2017 by 100," said a West Bengal government statement.

Seats in Calcutta National Medical College have been increased to 200 from 150 and from 100 to 150 in Medinipur Medical College.
