Bengal student found dead, suicide suspected
A second-year student of the Visva Bharati University in Shantiniketan was found dead in her hostel room on the campus in what appears to be a suicide, police said here Wednesday.
"It appears to be a case of suicide. The details will be clear after autopsy. We have heard she was a cancer patient," Ananda Roy, additional police superintendent, Birbhum, told IANS.
The student, hailing from Bankura, was diagnosed with cancer an year ago. She was suffering from depression.
Her body was discovered hanging from the ceiling.
