Bengal woman held on charge of impersonating CBI officer

A woman was arrested on Friday in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district on charge of extorting money by posing as a CBI officer, police said.

"Ichcha Sinha alias Rituparna Das was arrested from Sonarpur by the Criminal Investigation Department. Besides her photo in police uniform, a fake identity card showing her as a Central Bureau of Investigation officer was seized from her," the police said.

The accused had allegedly extorted money from several people.
