Move over Psy's 'Gangnam Style'. Mumbai Indians (MI) fans were awestruck with Bhajji's 'Bangnam Style' as the Mumbaikars took on the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League play-off at the Eden Gardens here Friday.
There was speculation over Tendulkar's fitness through the day, till the late evening heartbreak that he would not take the ground.
The supporters of 'paltan' or MI rallied to cheer on the men in blue on social networking sites, with the common war cry "we will rock the world".
Comments rolled in for master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and bowler Harbhajan Singh, affectionately called Bhajji.
"Aaj Mi Indian ko kisika baap nahi rok sakta itne se.Today we will see bangnam style by Bhajji to Watson and his co members," declared a fan on the Facebook page 'Mumbai Indians'.
Egging on the MIs, a supporter posted: "Duniya hila denge hum. Gogo go paltan (We will rock the world. Go Go Go paltan."
Comments rained primarily in Hinglish, but Marathi was not far away.
"Today MI versus RR. Come on Mumbai Indians gheun tak. (Come on Mumbai Indians take it!)," ran a post.
On another Facebook page 'Mumbai Indians-We will Rock the World', Tendulkar's well wishers made fervent appeals for the legend to play Friday's match.
"Please let Sachin play today and drop Rayudu because he is of no use at the bottom, rather it will increase a good batting depth," wrote a Tendulkar follower.
However, all the prayers went in vain as skipper Rohit Sharma announced during the toss that the little master was not yet fit.
However, on microblogging site Twitter some fans said Tendulkar should rest and save it up for D-day Sunday.
" Sachin should take rest for another match because his presence/fitness in final match will be key for us,what to say?" tweeted a well wisher.
Tendulkar hurt his left hand and wrist while batting during Mumbai's home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad May 13 and had to retire hurt. He then missed the team's last two league games as well as the first qualifier against Chennai Super Kings in Delhi.
