Bhopal school director held for sexual abuse of minor

Ashutosh Pratap Singh, director of a local private school, was arrested on Tuesday night on the charge of sexual abuse of a three-year-old girl, police said on Wednesday.

In this connection, a Police Station Incharge, Gaurav Singh Bundela, was also sent to police lines for dereliction of duty.

Confirming the arrest, SP (Bhopal South) Siddharth Bahuguna told IANS that the accused director was arrested late on Tuesday night.

According to police, the family members of the minor had accused the director of the school -- located in Giridhar compund of Kolar area -- of sexually abusing the three-year-old.

Police had registered a case in this regard on Sunday, but Singh was not immediately arrested. The family of the victim alleged that the arrest was delayed as Bundela and Singh were friends.
