Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has thanked melody queen Lata Mangeshkar for adding a special touch while lending her voice to his wife and actress Jaya Bachchan's songs on the screen.
Lata went behind the mike to croon classic songs like "Nadiya kinare" and "Piya bina" (Abhimaan) and fun numbers such as "Bahon mein chale aao" (Anamika) for Jaya.
Big B feels there is something special about the songs that Lata has sung for his wife.
"Before lending her voice to any song, Lataji used to ask the name of the actress for whom she was singing. When she used to find out that she is singing a particular song for Jaya (Bachchan), I don't why, I used to feel that her way of singing was different," Big B said Saturday at a function where he was conferred with Hridaynath Mangeshkar Award.
"I thank her for this because whenever I listen to a song which was filmed on Jaya, I feel it is especially sung by Lataji for Jaya," added the actor, who married Jaya in 1973.
