Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav on Wednesday announced that he will donate his first salary to the victims of the heavy rains in Chennai.
"I will donate my first salary of deputy chief minister to the victims of heavy rains in Chennai," Yadav said here.
He said though a small amount, it will be for a cause.
"We are deeply concerned about the safety and security of people there."
Yadav described the heavy rains as a natural disaster that require support from all on humanitarian grounds. "All of us should do something to help the victims in Tamil Nadu."
Earlier, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the people of Bihar were standing behind the people of Tamil Nadu during this natural crisis.
