Bihar governor D.Y. Patil Saturday nominated 12 people as members of the state legislative council.
All of them were nominated under a special quota. The 12 seats were vacant since 2012.
The governor nominated the members on the recommendation of the state cabinet.
The nominated members include three who resigned from Rashtriya Janata Dal - Samrat Choudhary, Javed Iqbal and Ram Lakhan Ram Raman - and two who resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Vijay Mishra and Rana Gangeshwar Singh as legislators in the last few days.
Besides, former chief minister Nitish Kumar's close confidant Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh was also nominated to the council. Lalan Singh was defeated in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls from Munger parliamentary constituency.
