A Bihar court Friday granted anticipatory bail to BJP leader Giriraj Singh in a case related to making hate speeches during election campaigning, a lawyer said.
The Patna Civil Court granted bail to Giriraj Singh over his remark that critics of BJP's prime ministerial hopeful Narendra Modi will be sent to Pakistan, his lawyer Janardan Rai said.
"It is a big relief to Giriraj Singh as a court here has granted anticipatory bail to him," Awadesh Kumar, a Bharatiya Janata Party leader close to him said.
But his troubles are far from over as two separate FIRs were lodged against him in Jharkhand's Bokaro and Deogarh for making an inflammatory speech during the campaigning for the general election.
A BJP leader told IANS here that Giriraj Singh will file a bail petition in the Bokaro court either Friday or Saturday.
Giriraj Singh is BJP's Lok Sabha candidate from Nawada constituency.
