The BJP on Wednesday praised Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for presenting what it dubbed a "forward looking, balanced and welfare budget".

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vice-President Om Prakash Mathur, who is party incharge of Uttar Pradesh affairs, said the 2017-18 budget presented in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday was focussed on farmers, the middle class, poor labourers, women and youths.

The budget, he added, will boost small and medium enterprises.

"While there is no added tax burden on the people, the poor have been benefited in a big way," Mathur said.

The BJP leader said the budget proposals had something for everyone.
