The two-day National Council meet of the BJP commenced here on Friday with lighting of the traditional lamp by dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party President Amit Shah, and veterans L.K. Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, among others.
Amit Shah, on behalf of the National Council members and the party workers, thanked Prime Minister Modi for the 10 per cent reservation for upper caste poor and relief in Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates, and extended special welcome to him.
More than 12,000 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members are participating in the event at Ramlila Ground here.
