The BJP Tuesday asked the government to make public the details about an arms-laden US ship detained in Tamil Nadu.
Armed US ship Seaman Guard Ohio, which flew a Sierra Leone flag, owned by US company AdvanFort, was detained by the Indian Coast Guard off the Tuticorin port in Tamil Nadu.
"We understand that a whole lot of agencies are investigating about the vessel, but we need to know what is the nature of the vessel, what is the quantum of ammunition on board," said BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman.
"The floating armouries of this kind and their legal status being unclear, raise a lot of questions... Has the government of India any mechanism to deal with it," she asked.
