The BJP on Monday sent copies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's BA and MA degrees and marksheets to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with a letter.
"On behalf of BJP president Amit Shah, I am enclosing the copies of Modi's graduation and postgraduation degrees and marksheets along with this letter," BJP secretary Shrikant Sharma said in the letter to Kejriwal.
"Hope this will remove your misconceptions regarding the prime minister's educational qualifications," he added.
Kejriwal, however, insisted that Modi's degrees shown by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders were "fake".
He alleged that the "real records" in the Delhi University have been sealed and the BJP had presented 'farzi' (fake) documents to the media.
"Docs in DU hv been sealed. BJP presents Farzi docs in a PC (press conference) n gets real records sealed? Why? Implement CIC order. Allow inspection," Kejriwal tweeted.
He wanted to know why the documents related to Modi's BA degree had been sealed.
The chief minister urged the university to implement the Central Information Commission (CIC) order that directed the university to put Modi's graduation degree on its website.
Kejriwal's comments came shortly after BJP president Amit Shah and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented Modi's BA and MA degrees along with the marksheets and asked Kejriwal to apologise for what they claimed was "lying".
