The BJP on Saturday alleged that the Arvind Kejriwal government has admitted its administrative failure by putting on hold the decision to implement the odd-even scheme in Delhi.

"Kejriwal government completely failed in taking preventive steps against pollution and it has taken immature steps to deal with the crisis. Administration in Delhi has collapsed and it is sad that Delhi is not ready to meet any emergency situation," a release quoted Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Manoj Tiwari as saying.

He said the decision of odd-even plan was taken in haste, but no necessary alternative arrangements were made.

The Delhi government was to implement the restrictions from November 13 to 17.

However, it postponed the move on Saturday while refusing to implement the scheme from Monday without exemptions to women and two-wheelers as sought by the National Green Tribunal (NGT).

Tiwari said the Kejriwal government's earlier announcement to use Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses during odd-even was a "politically motivated step".

It would have been better if the government had taken buses from other states or the private sector for plying on the DTC roads in place of indulging in politics, he added.
