The Delhi BJP will Tuesday protest against the government's rolling out of the food security programme here arguing that the scheme would do more harm to the poor than good, officials said Monday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) has chosen the same venue for its protest from where United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi will launch the scheme - Delhi's Talkatora stadium

BJP state president Vijay Goel said that Congress-led government in the union territory is completely unprepared to implement the Food Security Bill.

"There is confusion over the identification of the beneficiaries in the food security scheme under it people will actually get lower food grains," said Goel.

"The scheme is nothing else but an attempt to camouflage the Congress government's failure to control prices of all essential commodities," he added.

He said that the BJP would also be selling onions at nominal prices at the stadium as the Delhi government had failed to curb the spiralling prices and has disappointed the people of Delhi.
