Three members of a family were injured Monday evening when unidentified militants triggered a blast in Bongaigaon town of Assam, police said.
The militants lobbed a grenade near a motorcycle showroom in Bongaigaon. The blast damaged the showroom, said Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) S.N. Singh.
The family was passing by the area in an auto-rickshaw when the blast took place. A woman and a three-year-old boy were among the injured.
The boy's condition is stated to be critical, Singh said.
Asked who could be behind the incident, Singh said: "Both the Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) and the anti-talks faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) led by I.K. Songbijit have presence in the area and either of them could be involved in the incident."
