The bodies of three girls, who had gone missing on Friday, were found in a field in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria district on Saturday, police said.
The bodies had injury marks on the throat. The three girls had gone to cut fodder late Friday but did not return.
The villagers in Katiyari village informed police when their search yielded no result.
The villagers spotted the three bodies lying near a drain adjacent to a field, following which police sent the bodies for autopsy.
An official investigating the matter told IANS that it was too early to confirm any sexual abuse or rape.
