Britain, Bangladesh, Armenia condemn Uri terror attack

Britain, Bangladesh and Armenia on Tuesday joined the international community in condemning Sunday's cross-border terror attack from Pakistan on an Indian army base at Uri in Jammu and Kashmir that left 18 soldiers dead.

"The UK condemn all forms of terrorism, and stands shoulder to shoulder with India in the fight against terrorism and in bringing perpetrators to justice," Britain said in its statement, according to a tweet by Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup

In its statement, Bangladesh said that it strongly condemned terrorism and violent extremism in all its forms and manifestations.

"In line with its 'zero tolerance' policy against terrorism and violent extremism, Bangladesh firmly stands beside India at the this difficult hour," the statement from Dhaka said.

"As a close friend and neighbour, we would continue to work together in our common endeavour the eradicate the menace of cross-border terrorism from this region and beyond," it added.

In its statement, the Causasian nation of Armenia said: "We strongly condemn terrorist attack in Kashmir and express deep condolences to families of killed and friendly people of India."
