Border security force (BSF) troops on Wednesday foiled two infiltration bids by separatist guerrillas on the international border in Samba and Kathua districts of the region, police said.
A senior police officer told IANS here on Wednesday morning, "BSF troops noticed suspicious movements by some persons in the wee hours of Wednesday near two of its border outposts on the international border in Samba and Kathua districts."
"Alert troops fired at the suspicious persons forcing them to retreat back", officer said.
After the twin terror attacks on a police station in Kathua and an army camp in Samba districts last week authorities have sounded high alert all along the international border and the line of control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
