The Border Security Force (BSF) has recovered 4.6 kg of heroin, along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab's Abohar sector, a BSF official said on Wednesday.
The seizure was made in the area of Gazniwala Border Out-Post after the troops observed some freshly dug soil ahead of border security fence.
A special search operation was launched, during which nine packets (approximately 4.6 kg) of heroin were seized, the official said.
The contraband valued at Rs 23 crore in the international market was concealed in agricultural fields.
Punjab shares a 553-km international border with Pakistan.
