Romania's capital city Bucharest will be ready to host 2020 European football championship matches, Mayor Sorin Oprescu said.
Bucharest has been selected as one of the 13 host cities for the final tournament of the 2020 championship, the Union of European Football Associations UEFA) announced Friday, reports Xinhua.
"I hope we satisfy the parking area so that Bucharesters are not disturbed too much," said Oprescu referring to the request of UEFA officials for increasing parking spaces around the stadium.
The National Arena of Bucharest, a 55,600-seater stadium, will host four matches - three in the groups phase, and one in the round of 16 of the competition.
The other cities selected to host games are Amsterdam, Baku, Bilbao, Brussels, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dublin, Glasgow, London, Munich, Rome and St. Petersburg.
