The driver of an an app based cab aggregator was arrested here on Monday for allegedly misbehaving with a traffic sergeant, police said.
The Uber driver got involved in an altercation with traffic sergeant Abhishek Kumar Bari of Sealdah traffic police when the latter stopped the cab for violating one way road restriction at the M.G. Road-Amherst street crossing.
The driver also allegedly slapped a journalist, who was passing by, and took side of the traffic sergeant.
The cab was eventually intercepted and the driver arrested by the Amherst street police station personnel.
He was booked for assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty and punishment for causing wrongful restraint.
