Bal Thackeray's grandson Aditya Thackeray said he does not want to suggest the name of any actor who should play the role of the Shiv Sena founder in an upcoming biopic.
Aditya Thackeray was present at the graduation ceremony for women trained in self-defence, when he was asked who according to him is Bollywood's Bal Thackeray.
"I don't want to put the movie in any issues with me suggesting any actor," he said.
About who was apt for the role, the Yuva Sena chief said: "I don't look at him as a leader but my grandfather. I don't think we need to think about it (casting). Right now, there is no figure in mind. About who from Bollywood should play my grandfather, I don't think I need to look at it."
"I've just read about it in the morning, I'm not sure if the film is being made or not. I can't comment on it as I've haven't read the news in a detailed manner and not aware of the details. If a film is made, my only wish is that it should be on a particular level and stature. Only once the script and storyline is finalised, can we come to a conclusion what the film is actually about."
Aditya Thackeray said the issue was serious and important for him.
"It'll also be an emotional issue for a lot of people. Therefore, such things cannot be said without thinking twice... So we'll deliberating on it, and only then speak about it."
Aditya Thackeray was present along with the cast of "Brothers", including Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez.
When journalists suggested that Akshay should try for the role, he said it wass not his call and the filmmakers will decide who was apt for it.
Bal Thackeray's daughter-in-law Smita is the brain behind this biopic which will be directed by her son Rahul.
Smita Thackeray will produce the film with Sandeep Singh, Omang Kumar and Rashid Saeed. The filmmakers are looking for a Republic Day release in 2017, close to Bal Thackeray's birthday on January 20.
