Former Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande coach Fabio Cannavaro will be in charge of Saudi Arabian champions Al Nassr.
The Italian World Cup-winning captain will arrive in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday afternoon, Xinhua quoted the club as saying.
Cannavaro signed a contract that runs until the end of the season as the 42-year-old replaces Jorge da Silva, who was sacked on Friday following a 0-1 home defeat to Al Shabab.
Cannavaro stepped down as coach of Chinese Super League champions Evergrande in June after just seven months succeeding his mentor and 2006 World Cup winning coach Marcello Lippi.
As a player, Cannavaro won the Ballon d'Or and the FIFA World Player of the Year awards after captaining Italy to the 2006 World Cup.
