Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm has joined the long list of casualties of the German football club who will be absent from Saturday's Bundesliga game against Hannover 96.
Coach Pep Guardiola wasn't too pleased with the development and accused the head of the club's medical services Volker Braun of being responsible for the epidemic of injuries currently affecting the team on Thursday, reports Efe.
Braun in return, accused Guardiola of being responsible because he has returned players to training and competition earlier than recommended by the doctors.
Since last season there have been confrontations between Guardiola and the head of the medical teams of Bayern and the German selection, Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt, which led to the sudden resignation of the latter.
Lahm's injury, which occurred in the game against Darmstadt, seems to be a muscle strain and he is expected to return after the winter break.
Also sidelined with muscle injuries are Arjen Robben, Douglas Costa, Mario Gotze, Mehdi Benatia and Juan Bernat, while David Alaba has an ankle injury and Franck Ribery, who after a nine-month absence with a bone inflammation, returned and sustained a tear in his thigh muscle.
