Contrary to rumours, singer Mariah Carey is not dating her friend and filmmaker Brett Ratner, her representative has announced.
Carey's representative has called the dating rumour "ridiculous", and insisted that the singer's relationship with the "Hercules" helmer is strictly platonic, reports people.com.
"They have been best friends for a very long time," the representative said.
Ratner was the director of Carey's eight music videos, including "Heartbreaker", "I Still Believe", and "We Belong Together".
The dating rumour between the two coincidentally emerged as they are preparing for their birthday this weekend.
Carey split from former husband Nick Cannon in 2014. The "America's Got Talent" host has since moved on with Jessica White. Carey and Cannon have twin daughter and son, Monroe and Moroccan.
